Hardscape is any constructed landscape element. This does not include plant material. Hardscape elements will be reviewed by the HRB to insure that their environmental impacts are minimal. Effects on neighboring lots, community areas, wildlife, hydrology, or scenic views from existing structures must be considered. For example, long expanses of fences can adversely impact the free movement of wildlife, and block scenic views. Surface materials for paths and driveways should be water permeable and compatible with the surrounding landscape. The surface material should be natural stone, earth or mulch.
