Originally from New Jersey, Maura has spent the last decade in the Lowcountry. She holds a degree in Family and Child Studies from Montclair State University and has a strong background in both education and nonprofit operations. Before joining the Trust, she was an elementary school teacher at Riverview Charter School in Beaufort and most recently served as Operations Manager at Meeting Street Schools in Charleston.

Maura lives in Port Royal with her husband, along with their dog and cat. In her free time, you’ll find her hunting for shark teeth at the Sands or practicing photography.
